These terms are the deal between you and us about using Crease. They are short and in plain English on purpose. The privacy policy is part of them, and it is the one to read if you coach children.
1. What Crease is
Crease helps cricket coaches plan training sessions, run them, and track how players develop. Some of what it produces is written by AI. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Crease is operated from Australia. The legal entity behind it is being set up, and its registered name and address will be printed here before the app is available to the general public.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to hold a Crease account. Players do not get accounts, and there is no way for a child to sign in.
- Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per coach. Coaches at the same facility can see the same player records, which is the point of a facility, so share the facility rather than the login.
3. Using it properly
You agree to:
- use Crease for real coaching, and not for anything else;
- only enter information about a player you are entitled to hold it about, in line with your club's safeguarding and privacy arrangements, including parental or guardian consent where your club requires it (see the privacy policy, section 7);
- keep what you write about a player relevant to their cricket;
- not try to extract, resell or reverse engineer the underlying AI service, and not probe or overload our systems;
- not use the AI features for anything unrelated to cricket coaching.
4. AI content, and why you still have to think
Session plans, drills, insights and reports are generated by AI and can be wrong. They are suggestions, not professional instruction. You are the coach: check every plan for safety and for whether it suits the age and stage of the player in front of you, before you run it. That matters most with juniors, and with anything involving workload, short-pitched bowling or fatigue.
Drills are carried out at your and your players' own risk, under your supervision and your club's safety procedures. We are not responsible for injuries or outcomes arising from coaching decisions you make.
5. Fair use
AI generation is capped per coach: currently 200 generations a day and 20 a minute. This keeps the service affordable and stops a runaway loop costing us the project. We may change the limits, and will tell coaches if we do.
6. Your data and your content
You keep ownership of what you enter and of the content generated for you. You give us the limited permission we need to run the service: storing it, showing it back to you and to the coaches at your facility, and sending the parts described in the privacy policy to our AI provider so a plan can be written. We do not sell it and we do not use it to train any model of our own.
You can export everything you own from your Profile, and you can delete your account and everything in it from your Profile at any time.
7. Availability, and changes
Crease is provided as is. We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee it will always be available, and features will change as the app develops. During the pilot the app is still being built around a small group of coaches, so expect it to move.
Crease is free while it is in pilot. If it ever becomes paid, we will set out pricing, billing and cancellation before charging anyone anything.
8. Ending it
You can stop using Crease whenever you like, and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example misuse of the AI features or a safeguarding concern, and we will give notice where it is reasonable to do so.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits anything that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for anything to do with Crease is limited to resupplying the service or, while the app is free, to AUD 100.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
11. Changes to these terms
We will update this page when the terms change and move the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects coaches, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
